Increased grade-level learning among future goals for Clear Creek ISD

Beginning in 2028, Texas schools will receive CCMR credit only for students who complete a Texas Education Agency-approved college preparatory course, according to the TEA’s website.

This means some programs the district uses, such as Texas College Bridge, an online college-readiness program, might no longer be sufficient to secure credits.

The district discussed meeting CCMR requirements through Texas Assessment Initiative-2, ACT and SAT exams rather than the Texas College Bridge, according to the presentation.

Within the district’s “Vision 2030” roadmap is a goal to elevate the intermediate schools’ curriculum through specialized learning pathways, according to the presentation.

The district is working to promote innovation by creating multiple new learning opportunities in science, technology, reading, engineering, arts and math, including specialized programs at different campuses. For example:

• Allied Health focus at Bayside Intermediate
• Aviation focus at Victory Lakes Intermediate
• Fine arts focus at Clear Creek Intermediate

The district also plans to establish a facility condition index for each facility by August, according to the presentation.

In December, the district began implementing Brightly, a maintenance software system to manage costly infrastructure repairs.

The software system has been used as a strategic planning tool that will create a condition index to predict long-term costs for the district.

"I think it will remove some of the flexibility we've exercised to kick the can down the road," board member Arturo Sanchez said at the December meeting. "It changes the narrative from 'what do we think we should do' to 'this is what must be done.'"
