League City's commitment to sustainability was recognized as the city was honored for its ongoing environmental initiatives.
League City staff members were awarded the Silver Star Affiliate plaque for the second year in a row at the Keep Texas Beautiful Conference on June 28, recognizing their ongoing efforts in beautification, litter prevention, waste reduction, recycling and environmental preservation, according to a June 28 news release.
League City Director of Communications Sarah Greer Osborne said the city aims to incorporate nature and the environment into its Public Art Initiative.
The initiative seeks to create and install various forms of public art across League City, reflecting the city's history, future and values; and providing an identity for residents and visitors while enhancing the aesthetic appeal and economic opportunities, League City officials previously said.
