Home2 Suites by Hilton potentially coming to Kemah

Council member Teresa Vazquez-Evans, the only member of council who voted against the motion, said she voted against the motion because when the approval for funding the project had come to City Council in the past, City Council had requested an updated impact analysis, which would show the economic impact for Kemah upon building the hotel.

"We're being asked to vote for something where we have not been provided a copy and there's no public disclosure of the [agreement] to City Council," Vasquez-Evans said.

City Council will discuss the agreement for the project at a future meeting at an undetermined date.
