Back-to-School Bash
The DeLeon Barber College team will offer free haircuts for children returning to school. Other activities will include bounce houses, snow cones, food and beverages.
Bastrop County Health Fair
A variety of Bastrop health experts will converge at the Bastrop County Convention Center to offer workshops and health screenings to the public. Themes throughout the day will include healthy living, healthcare, exercise, nutrition, life-saving techniques and more.
Bastrop County Hispanic Business Network
The newly formed group of Hispanic business owners will host a networking event to discuss city initiatives. The guest speaker will be Bastrop City Manager Sylvia Carrillo.
Big Pink Bus
Lone Star Circle of Care will offer 3D mobile mammography services for people ages 40 and older. Those seeking services cannot have been screened in the past year, must not be breastfeeding or pregnant, can independently walk up and down stairs, and should not be experiencing any obvious breast issues including lumps, discharge or pain. Appointments must be scheduled in advance online or by phone at 512-303-1200, as walk-up services are not available.
Bastrop Baila and Beats Street Dance Showcase and Competition
Funded by the Bastrop Cultural Arts Commission, local resident Patrick “Pac Man” Perez will host the inaugural event featuring a dance showcase, all-styles dance competitions, and more, accompanied by San Antonio-based DJ AceThunda. A Q&A session will also be provided, with interpretations in both Spanish and American Sign Language.
Main Street Market at the Convention Center
Benefiting the First Baptist Church of Bastrop food pantry, the indoor shopping event will feature vendors selling clothing, jewelry, home and holiday decor, food, candles and more.
6th Annual Abbey Lights Up COTA Gala
The Abigail E. Keller Foundation will host a fundraising soiree to continue supporting children with medical conditions and their families. The nonprofit will offer attendees the chance to participate in a live and silent auction, a raffle and a champagne wall, as well as live music and guest speakers.
Boot Scootin'
City of Bastrop Recreation officials will offer weekly line-dancing classes. The sessions will be designed to include those with and without experience. Comfortable footwear is recommended.
