Whether individuals are looking for a family outdoor experience or a solo challenging trek, there are many outdoor trails to enjoy in Bastrop and surrounding areas. This list is not comprehensive.
Lost Pines Trail
This popular trail offers scenic views including forested hills, open meadows and Fehr's Overlook Trace. The longest backcountry trail in Bastrop State Park, it ranges from steep hills to gradual descents. Water, snacks and sunscreen are recommended. Leashed dogs are permitted.

Tree Army Trails
This Americans with Disabilities Act-accessible, family-friendly trail is centered around the Bastrop State Park headquarters near the former golf course and offers views of the loblolly pine trees and Lake Mina. Visitors may find some of the slopes and curves challenging; however, the southern portion is accessible for those using strollers. All-terrain wheelchairs are also available to reserve by calling 512-321-2101.
