From steak to Louisiana-style crawfish, two local restaurants recently reopened in new homes.
Crawfish KRAK House moves to West Bastrop
Owner Kris Martinez’s crawfish spot serves Louisiana-style crawfish with sides including potatoes, corn and sausage.
The eatery originally opened at 1617 Pine St., Bastrop, but now operates at Back 9 Bar.

Martinez said the name Crawfish KRAK House comes from his family members’ initials—Koda, Ryder, Alicia and Kris.
Joseph’s Steak House reopens in fresh space after 14-month closure
The local favorite began serving customers in March following a 14-month closure. The eatery was previously located at 199 U.S. Hwy. 290, Elgin.
The details
The restaurant closed Jan. 21, 2024, and recently opened in the space formerly occupied by Elgin's City Cafe.
Manager Jose Arreola said it's a privilege to be able to reopen to the community.
On the menu
Arreola said new items were added to the menu, including the Lemon Herb Red Snapper served with one side for $19.99.
Though the restaurant specializes in steaks, other options are offered such as Chicken Fried Chicken, appetizers, sides, cocktails, wines and spirits.
