Intense heat will be the main weather focus for the next several days as a broad ridge of high pressure dominates the western half of the United States.

Through Friday, high temperatures will range from 101 to 103 degrees with abundant sunshine. Sunny skies and dry weather continue into the weekend with afternoon temperatures expected to reach as high as 105 degrees.

Very hot weather continues into Monday before rain chances and slightly cooler temperatures arrive next Tuesday and Wednesday.

In the meantime, good heat safety practices will be crucial. Limit afternoon outdoor activities, stay hydrated and get into the air-conditioning if you begin to feel ill while outside.
