MoPac South project halted while Mobility Authority awaits update from TxDOT

Updated 9:58 a.m. Feb. 8

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority and the Texas Department of Transportation are working with local partners to improve approximately 8 miles of MoPac from Cesar Chavez Street to Slaughter Lane. The team had been analyzing several potential operational configurations for how the proposed express lane or lanes would cross over Lady Bird Lake. A fifth open house was planned for 2018, but the project is now halted while the Mobility Authority awaits an update from TxDOT over the project because of the proposed toll elements.

Timeline: TBD

Editor’s note: This post was updated to reflect the current project status.
