A map supplied by Austin Energy showed power outages scattered throughout the city Sunday morning, with 283 active outages reported at 9:59 a.m.

Customers affected totaled 13,968 citywide, a 23.87 percent increase from the 9:07 a.m. update. According to Austin Energy's website, the number of outages and customers affected is updated every 10 minutes.

The number of hazards, or incidences that are not necessarily causing an outage but are of public concern, such as downed power lines or trees, topped out at 231 citywide at 9:49 a.m.

Over 1,000 Austin Energy customers have been without power since 10:22 p.m. Saturday night near Zilker Park, according to the agency's power outage map. Another 690 customers in the Travis Heights area have lacked electricity since 6:17 p.m. yesterday.

A widespread outage in Northwest Austin spanning from Spicewood Springs Road to Hwy. 183 has rendered another 2,132 customers without power since 6:37 a.m. this morning.

South Austin residents living below Hwy. 290 appear to have avoided power outages for the most part as of Sunday morning, according to the map. Still, three outages near the Toney Burger Center in Sunset Valley have resulted in 203 customers without electricity, and another 194 Austin residents are without power near Westgate Boulevard and Hwy. 290.

According to the latest Google Public Alert posted around 8 a.m., across Travis County Tropical Storm Harvey has brought 2 to 8 inches of rain has fallen in the last 48 hours with an additional 5 to 10 inches anticipated through Wednesday.
