The minds behind Southwest Austin's Moontower Saloon are bringing a sports pub to Davis and Brodie lanes.

"I was not looking for a project," Moontower co-owner Josh Bumb said. "We have plenty of projects we are in the middle of, but it would not be prudent to walk away from the very obvious knock-it-out-of-the-park that this would be."

Vincent's Sports Pub, named after his father, Larry Vincent Bumb, will be reminiscent of what sports pubs used to look like before the faux-industrial aesthetic became popular, Bumb said. Leather and wood accents and low ceilings will give way to what Bumb describes as a cozy neighborhood sports bar.

"The old school way of doing sports pubs is now the new way," he said. "It won't have that chicken-wing-place flavor—a bit more intimate."

Bumb, who is opening the 2,499-square-foot pub with his Moontower partners, his father and friend Richard Veregge, said the pub will serve Americana-style food and house several TVs for patrons to view their favorite sports game. The space will feature garage-style doors and a large patio to accommodate outdoor seating.

"We might include a pool table or dartboard, but we want to get the things we need in first and then feel it out," Bumb said.

Tyler Brennan, who is the landlord for the 7,979-square-foot building, said the development, known as Brodie Marketplace, will house five tenants. A subsidiary of Floss Dental, known as Swish Dental, has signed a lease for one of the four spaces. A locally owned pharmacy will also occupy one of the remaining spaces, and Brennan said he is in talks with a yoga studio to lease another space. Next door a Valero is slated to open by July, and a 6,000-square-foot salon behind the development is in its design phase, Brennan said.

Bumb said he and his partners are shooting for a November opening for Vincent's. The remaining tenants should open for business around the same time, Brennan said.

"We are stoked," Bumb said. "A lot of stuff had to be held off until everything was lined up, but now it is, and we are stoked about this one."
