With locations across the Austin area, Happy Health and Wellness provides personalized treatment plans focused on long-term solutions and preventive care for locals.
“We basically combine evidence-based conventional medicine with advanced wellness therapies to help patients optimize their health, prevent disease [and] improve quality of life,” said Trevor Hopper, family nurse practitioner at Happy Health and Wellness in Dripping Springs.
The context
Happy Health and Wellness launched in 2023, born from CEO Katrina Midkiff’s personal success story with IV therapy after being faced with substantial health challenges. Midkiff then founded Happy Health and Wellness out of her desire to help others, according to the brand’s social media.
The health care provider has locations all over the country, including offices in Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Utah and Texas. The brand’s services landed in Dripping Springs in fall 2023, offering primary care, IV therapy, weight loss support and more to community members.
What they offer
Happy Health and Wellness accepts patients ages six and older, with a specialization in preventative care and early intervention. Providers spend time learning about a patient’s medical history to give a detailed plan of action and educate them on their diagnosis.
“The whole model is ... seeing what the patient really needs, listening to the patient, underlining those issues [and] finding that root cause versus masking it with [medicine],” Hopper said.
The practice also offers additional services, including allergy treatments, elite physicals, and alternative therapies, including hormone replacement therapy, peptide therapy and PlaqueX therapy. Happy Health and Wellness accepts insurance—with coverage varying based on location, self-pay options and sliding scale fees for qualifying individuals.
Who its for
Providers at Happy Health and Wellness are focused on building patient relationships and rapport. Many patients see a practitioner once a week, which allows them to establish continuous communication. The office has also become a place for patients to connect with each other and build a community around wellness. For example, providers encourage individuals receiving IV therapy to sit in a communal space while receiving infusions.
“They actually build a community [among] themselves because they can share stories [and] support each other. So, you have that social aspect too,” Hopper said.
In their own words
“I always tell people [to] come with an open [mind],” Hopper said. “We're not trying to sell these extra services, we're trying to actually [help] you be empowered to take care of your own health, advocate for yourself, know that different resources are available and know that the medication is not always the first go-to.”
What’s next
Happy Health and Wellness in Dripping Springs will roll out a new method of delivering Hormone Replacement Therapy later this summer, Hopper said. The treatment—Testosterone pellet therapy—is where hormones are inserted into the upper glute, allowing testosterone to be delivered to the body for about three months, according to the brand’s social media.
Happy Health and Wellness may also expand services in the future to stem cell therapy treatment, Botox and chemical peels, Hopper explained, with each office having its own specialty.
