Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 10. In light of altered business operations due to the coronavirus pandemic, some Southwest Austin businesses have moved Mother’s Day events and gift ordering online. Others, however, have reopened following executive orders by Gov. Greg Abbott and are open to a limited number of guests.

Events


While it may be difficult to host events while social distancing measures remain in effect, South Austin senior living facility The Auberge at Onion Creek, located at 11330 Farrah Lane, Austin, has found a way to have a social-distanced celebration for area mothers. From 10:30-11:30 a.m. May 8, the Auberge will host a Mother’s Day car parade focusing on moms at the facility who have been isolated from their families during the pandemic. Decorations and signs are encouraged.
