Spec's Wine, Spirits & Finer Foods

This is the Houston-based brand's 16th Austin location and the first downtown. The building was previously a Goodwill. Located in downtown Austin, the learning center “embraces neurodiversity,” bringing the community an inclusive therapy center dedicated to all types of learning and exploration. The space features an indoor gym with two trampolines and acrobatics swings, interactive games, a sensory room and a library with a large salt water aquarium. Clinical professionals on staff follow a “loose structure” during sessions providing applied behavior analysis, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, as well as sensory and music therapy.Lockton

Austin’s first pub dedicated to women’s sports is set to open in Central Austin. Formerly ATX Women's Sports Pub, 1972 was co-founded by Debra Hallum and Marlene du Plessis. According to a news release, the pub will feature big screens showcasing women’s sports year-round, an extensive menu and a welcoming environment for all fans, including men, the LGBTQ+ community and allies.

Justine’s Brasserie


Partnering with the Blanton Museum of Art, Justine’s Brasserie will offer French cuisine, taking inspiration from Paris-style cafes. The brain behind Austin spaces such as Uchi and La Condesa, Joel Mozersky will be designing the new concept’s interior, according to an announcement on social media.

    Iconic blues venue Antone's will celebrate 50 years in downtown Austin this year. Self-proclaimed “home of the blues,” the stage has featured legendary names such as B.B. King, Ray Charles, Stevie Ray Vaughan and James Brown, among others.

    The Austin-based chain celebrated 20 years this year. The eatery highlights its use of fresh, quality ingredients, such as 100% Black Angus beef without hormones and antibiotics, hand-cut Idaho Burbank potatoes cooked only in canola oil, hand-spun milkshakes, and lemonade and orange juice made from freshly squeezed citrus.
