The Bougie Foodie, a former dessert trailer, opened its first brick-and-mortar shop on Aug. 24.

Owner Brianna Cryar opened and operated The Bougie Foodie in January 2023 out of GhostLine Kitchens, a shared commercial kitchen space in East Austin. She bought a trailer and moved the business to a food truck park at 1311 S. First St., Austin last January. Cryar closed the trailer in July to focus on the new location on South Congress Avenue.

On the menu

The Bougie Foodie serves a variety of desserts like gourmet Rice Krispies treats, cake slices, "puppy chow," oversized "brookies" and caramel bars. Cryar said the two bestsellers are the Choco Chip Cookie Mountain, a six-ounce cookie, and Mimi's Boozy Bread Pudding, a bread pudding made with a brandy sauce. The recipe is from Cryar's grandmother and made her want to start a dessert business.

The Bougie Foodie also has a full coffee menu, freshly squeezed lemonades and seasonal refreshers.
