NOW OPEN

Gather & Co. opened its second location Oct. 2 at the Tanger Outlets, 4015 S. I-35, Ste. 215, San Marcos. The retail shop sells sustainable clothing items that have been thrifted, are vintage or second-hand. It has also partnered with other local businesses to provide locally made jewelry, candles, art and more. 512-730-1191. The shop can be found on Instagram @GatherandCoATX.

Sky Blue Cafe opened Sept. 28 at 206 W. San Antonio St., San Marcos. The restaurant features a variety of cuisine on its menu from meatloaf and Philly cheesesteak to Tex-Mex such as quesadillas and breakfast tacos. Additionally, the restaurant serves breakfast all day. 512-667-6402.

COMING SOON

New Braunfels residents Joe and Wendy Snyder will be opening the 15th franchise of Anchor Bar at 1400 Aquarena Springs, San Marcos. This will be the fourth Texas location of the New York-based chicken wing restaurant that began in 1964. The restaurant will take on a sports bar theme and have a separate family dining area with televisions. There is no set opening date, however, they hope to open before 2022. www.anchorbar.com


El Arco Pupusas will open at the end of October at 714 E. Hopkins St., San Marcos. The restaurant is in the final stages of finalizing equipment and hiring staff. The restaurant will specialize in Salvadorian and Central American food. 310-770-5347.

The Groove: A Unique Eatery & Groovy Eats will open a retail space at 2626 Hunter Road, Ste. 101, San Marcos, in December. The menu will feature brunch items as well as soups, salads and sandwiches. Snacks, such as baked goods, and a variety of drinks, such as coffee, kombucha and smoothies, will also be available. Orvis will open a new location in October at the San Marcos Premium Outlets at 3939 I-35, San Marcos, in between Sperry & Saucony outlet and Abercrombie & Fitch. Orvis offers outdoor equipment for fly-fishing and hunting from beginner gear to pro collections.
