Alex Villalobos has secured his Democratic nomination for Hays County sheriff with 15,319 votes (74.32%), as Hays County reports that all polling locations have been accounted for—though all results are unofficial until canvassed—opponent Dickey Haverda garnered 5,294 of the votes (25.68%).

Incumbent Gary Cutler has locked his GOP nomination for Hays County sheriff in the November general election with 11,304 votes (77.16%), while challenger Dave Graham received 3,347 votes (22.84%).

Update: 10:43 p.m.

Though all votes are unofficial until canvassed, Alex Villalobos has a commanding lead with 12,596 votes (74.30%) for the Democratic nomination, opponent Dickey Haverda has 4,356 votes (25.70%). Both Democratic candidates are squaring off for Hays County sheriff.



With nearly all precincts reporting, Gary Cutler dominates the Republican nomination with 10,876 votes (77.56%) while challenger Dave Graham has 3,146 votes (22.44%).

The winner of the Democratic and GOP nominations will face off in the November general election for
Hays County sheriff.

Alex Villalobos holds the lead for the Democratic nomination with 9,272 votes (73.97%) and Dickey Haverda has 3,262 votes (26.03%).


Incumbent Gary Cutler continues to take the lead for the GOP with 8,245 votes (79.68%), compared to
Dave Graham with 2,102 votes (20.32%).

The first return of the early voting totals for Hays County sheriff show Democrat candidate Alex Villalobos leading Dickey Haverda.



Villalobos has 8,238 votes (74.18%) while Haverda is at 2,868 votes (25.82%). The winner will face the Republican winner in the November general election.



Incumbent Gary Cutler leads candidate Dave Graham to take the Republican nomination for Hays County sheriff with 7,772 votes (79.78%), compared to 1,843 (20.22%) for Graham.



Polls closed at 7 p.m. Community Impact Newspaper will update this story as more Primary Election Day vote totals are reported by Hays County.
