Free COVID-19 testing will be provided in San Marcos and Kyle from Aug. 24-29.

The testing, offered through Hays county and other government authorities, will be available from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. each day.

San Marcos High School at 2601 Rattler Road, San Marcos, and the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center at 979 Kohlers Crossing, Kyle, will be the two available testing sites.

According to information released by the city of Buda, no appointments are necessary. Service is available by walk-up only, and the sites are not drive-thrus.

People of all ages can be tested but are asked to wear a mask while at either testing site. Those being tested will be asked not to eat or drink anything 30 minutes before the test. Results are expected to be returned within four days.
