La Ola Pop Shop

Owners Julian and Paulina Hernandez, along with their son Aaron, will bring a second spot to Buda. The first location, at 856 Kohlers Crossing, Ste. 320, Kyle, opened in 2017. The shop will serve ice cream and popsicles made from hand-picked fruit at the upcoming The Roundabout in Buda development.

The spot will sell books and book-related merchandise, as well as wine and other beverages, and offer community events.

Jimmy Kelly, Josh Bumb, Richard Veregge, and Tim Dowling are the local owners who are teaming up to open an Irish bar with pub food, live music and a patio. The menu and ambiance will be modeled after Kelly’s Irish Pub in Austin, owned by Kelly and Bumb.

Nonprofit Austin Angels is building a foster care community center that will provide free programming, enrichment events, workshops and celebrations. The community center will also provide a space for visitations between children and their biological families.In the news
