Budaful Tavern opened to the public on May 15.

The restaurant was previously JParks Chophouse & Saloon, a steakhouse owned by Jeff Parks who also owns Mudbugs in Buda. JParks Chophouse & Saloon temporarily closed in April to refurbish the restaurant to match the new concept.

Parks said he’s going “back to basics but better” at Budaful Tavern.

He said the new concept is more rustic with a “throwback” feel. Budaful Tavern has beer on tap with menu items like pretzels with queso, spinach dip and wings. Burgers and steak are still on the menu. Another TV has also been added to the outdoor deck.

The restaurant's grand opening hours are 4-11 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and 4 p.m.-12 a.m. on Friday. Budaful Tavern will be closed over the weekend and resume regular hours on May 20. Final hours will be posted on Facebook.
