Jack Allen’s Kitchen

For an upscale brunch made only with local ingredients, check out Jack Allen’s Kitchen on Saturdays and Sundays after 11 a.m. Boozy drink options include pomegranate sangria, fresh-squeezed screwdriver, house bloody mary, mimosa and three specialty morning-friendly cocktails. On the menu, classics have been given a breakfast twist with platters like crispy fried chicken and biscuits and the JAK Con Todo Quesadilla, which has a whole hog sausage in it.

Finley’s

Greenhouse Local Craft Food

This joint is known for its cozy atmosphere and its ingredients sourced from Texas farms. On Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., the farm-to-table restaurant is open for brunch with menu options like avocado toast with black beans and verde salsa, the Hangover Burger, breakfast tacos and cheddar grits with fried chicken.

Urban Eat.Drink

This downtown eatery with indoor and outdoor seating has an extensive brunch menu with 20 different platters to choose from plus an a la carte menu. Available Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., the drink menu offers breakfast cocktails, bubbles, wine, beer, cider and nonalcoholic beverages. The rooftop is closed on Sunday, but if you visit on Saturday, be sure to check it out after your meal for views of downtown Round Rock.

A $6.7 million budget amendment was approved by consent at the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees meeting Oct. 21. The budget amendment was requested to cover planned expenses for Career and Technical Education projects, instructional professional development, equipment, substitute teachers and the increase of insurance premium costs.
