Mediterranean grill Usta Kababgy is now open in Round Rock, offering halal cuisine including a house specialty chicken shawarma plate, five-piece falafel and lamb tikka.

The restaurant also serves smoothies, and the dessert menu features baklava, basbousa, cheesecake and mamool. This is the second location of Usta Kababgy; the first location in Austin opened in 2019.2. Dolce Dance


A new dance studio, Dolce Dance is offering dance classes for all ages in Round Rock. The studio is locally owned by Tiffany Jones and provides classes in jazz, ballet, lyrical and more.

Kids in Motion classes are also offered and specifically geared toward special needs students who want movement training.3. Floyd's 99 Barbershop

Floyd's 99 Barbershop recently opened in the Market at Round Rock shopping center. The barber shop provides hair coloring services, beard trims, waxing, fade haircuts and straight-razor shaves as well as a signature massage shampoo and shoulder massage at the end of every appointment. Clean Juice, a franchise serving organic smoothies and juices, recently opened in its second Austin-area location in Round Rock. A new Latin social club and tapas bar called The Point ATX will open in Round Rock in November where Smokey Creek Cajun Bar & Grill used to be. The social club will bring together Latin dance music and cuisine to serve as a spot for enjoying craft cocktails and conversation. The Point ATX is locally owned by Ronny Nunez, Andrea Henao, Monica Ramos and Marcos Marquez.7. Raku AYCE Sushi, Sukiyaki, Buffet & Bar

Raku AYCE Sushi, Sukiyaki, Buffet & Bar will soon occupy a space in Sky Ridge Plaza formerly home to Fogueira Gaúcha Brazilian Steakhouse, per a representative of Umi Sushi & Seafood Buffet. The all-you-can-eat buffet is locally owned by Sam Wang. A menu for this location is not yet available, but Umi Sushi & Seafood's corporate menu includes a variety of appetizers, such as fresh fruit, soup and salad; main dishes, such as prepared clams, calamari, lobster, chicken and beef; varieties of sushi; and desserts.

Mayfield Ranch Dental is set to open in Round Rock. The office, led by Drs. Jai Kolliboyana and Juhi Hirpara, will offer dental exams, cleanings, wisdom teeth removal, sedation dentistry, implants, full mouth rehabilitation and Invisalign treatment.9. Smiling Donuts

The Pflugerville doughnut shop Smiling Donuts is expanding to Round Rock in February. The shop is locally owned by Jamie Muor, and the new location will sell its signature combo of doughnuts, pastries and boba teas.10. Macs

A gourmet macaroni and cheese shop will soon join the options of dining experiences at Kalahari Resorts and Convention Center in Round Rock. Boasting a menu of cheesy macs, crispy salads and various desserts, Macs will offer guests a fast, new dining option. 11. Round Rock West Kumon


The Round Rock West Kumon is relocating to the same property as Aspire Vision Care on Smyers Lane in 2024. Owner Arathi Kumar said she was the first to open a Kumon tutoring center in Round Rock 24 years ago. The grand opening will be held Jan. 17, and the former location at Beck Commons shopping center will stop offering classes Jan. 14.In the news

12. Daiso

A Daiso store is coming soon to Round Rock, according to permitting information from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, although an opening date is not available. The storefront will offer many Japanese-inspired goods, such as home decor, food items and stationery.13. HTeaO

City of Round Rock officials confirmed the HTeaO company has filed a permit for a location on Palm Valley Boulevard. The Texas-based beverage company originated in Dallas and now has franchise locations statewide. HTeaO's menu offers a variety of tea and coffee options as well as a special menu of drinks named "cotton candy," "pink flamingo" and more. HTeaO still has a few stages of review left before the permit is issued and construction can begin.14. Thermasol


Thermasol, a family-owned steam shower and sauna manufacturer, celebrated 65 years in business Oct. 20. The company sells steam showers; digital shower systems; saunas; and bathroom accessories, such as sound systems and fog-free mirrors, for private residences. Thermasol was originally founded by David Altman in 1958, and the company moved its California headquarters to Round Rock in 2014.
