What we reported After Precourt Sports Ventures this summer announced Austin FC as the city’s upcoming Major League Soccer team, a potential block to relocate the Columbus Crew to Austin arose in October.

the latest Austin is still on track to get its MLS team. MLS commissioner Don Garber on Dec. 7 said the league will release more details about the expansion to Austin in the coming months. PSV announced Dec. 19 it finalized an agreement with the city of Austin to build an MLS stadium at McKalla Place in North Austin. Construction will break ground in 2019 and the stadium will open in spring 2021.
