Throughout the week of March 6-10, H-E-B has been surprising local teachers with the news that they have advanced in the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards. These awards are the largest monetary program for Texas educators.
These are the teachers who have advanced in the competition:
- Sarah Rabe from Pflugerville Elementary in Pflugerville ISD
- Docia Craft from Murchison Elementary in PfISD
- Kirk Wrinkle from Pflugerville High School in PfISD
- Denise Johnson from Blackland Prairie Elementary in Round Rock ISD
Each teacher was presented with a $1,000 personal check and $1,000 check to go to his or her school. As a principal, Wrinkle was presented with a $1,000 personal check and $2,500 for his school.
Finalists will continue with the awards process from May 6-7 during which time prizes totaling $430,000 will be awarded.
