Officials from Pflugerville and Living Spaces gathered Thursday for a ribbon cutting ceremony and preview of the furniture store before its grand opening Tuesday, May 29.

“You’ve jumped through a lot of hoops to make this big development possible and accelerate our timeline here,” Living Spaces CEO Grover Geiselman told city officials Thursday.

Pflugerville Mayor Victor Gonzales and Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce President Shontel Mays introduced Geiselman and his family at the preview event. Both officials mentioned the U.S. Census Bureau’s report that found Pflugerville to be the country’s third-fastest growing city for a municipality its size.

“We’re moving ahead at warp speed and I think the numbers this morning reflect that,” Gonzales said.

Living Spaces opened its showroom to the public for the first time Thursday night with drinks and live music. Guests were invited to walk around the more than 100,000-square-foot showroom featuring Living Spaces’ furniture collections, including bedroom sets, sofas and couches, children’s furniture, chairs, kitchen collections and more.

The development is more than 500,000 square feet in size and a Beck’s Prime Restaurant will open soon inside the building. There are three other lots on the property that can also be developed.

“It is a retail destiny and I think it will help Pflugerville cross the threshold into the future as we have new development in our community,” Gonzales said.
