The Hutto ISD board of trustees includes a new face following the May board election.
What you need to know
April Adams and Felix Chavez were sworn in to their seats on the board of trustees May 28. Adams was sworn into the board for the first time, and Chavez was sworn in for his third term.
How we got here
This comes as trustee Shara Turner, who served on the board for two terms beginning in 2020, is retiring from the board.
Adams and Chavez won their races in the May 2 election against opponents Lynn Green, Taylor Lopez and Sam Martinez.
The details
Seats on the district's board are at-large, representing the community as a whole. They will each serve a three-year term.
The next board election will be in May 2027, when seats occupied by board President Amy English and James Matlock are set to expire.
What else?
The board also elected new officers. Chavez was voted in as the newest board president, followed by Matlock as vice president and Shannon Jacobs as board secretary.
