Hutto ISD to hold board election in May

Hutto ISD will hold an election this May with three at-large positions on the board of trustees up for reelection. These positions are currently held by Board President Billie Logiudice, Vice President Shannon Jacobs and Terrence Owens.

What you need to know

Trustees of the HISD board voted to call an election to fill the three expiring seats on Jan. 9.

The filing period to run for the board of trustees will be open Jan. 15 and close Feb. 14, and eligible candidates will appear on the ballot May 3, according to the Texas Secretary of State.

HISD trustees are at-large representatives and will serve out three-year terms once elected.

The following are key dates for the May 3 election cycle:

• April 3: deadline to register to vote in the May election
• April 22: first day of early voting
• April 22: deadline to apply for a ballot by mail
• April 29: last day of early voting
• May 3: election day
