Skybox Datacenters, a national data center development firm headquartered in Dallas, plans to build a new 141,000-square-foot data center in Pflugerville.

Pflugerville City Council approved an economic development performance agreement between the Pflugerville Community Development Corp. and Skybox on March 8.

As part of the agreement, the PCDC will provide Skybox an expansion grant of up to $1.58 million over a 10-year period. To qualify for the grant, Skybox must construct a facility prior to Jan. 1, 2024, secure at least one tenant and certify a minimum investment of $50 million.

“We look forward to working with Skybox Datacenters and Prologis on this project that is bringing significant investment, infrastructure improvements and a solid tax base for the City of Pflugerville,” PCDC Executive Director Amy Madison said in a press release announcing the project.

According to the release, Skybox owners and occupants intend to invest up to $548 million in the city of Pflugerville via construction and personal property.

“Skybox is excited to launch our newest data center facility in Pflugerville, which offers innovative, sustainable and adaptable turn-key and powered shell solutions that will benefit our enterprise and hyperscale customers in Austin and across the country,” Skybox CEO Rob Morris said in the release.

Construction on the facility, located at the northeast corner of New Meister Lane and Meister Lane, is expected to begin by the end of the year.
