Starting July 15, community connectivity group iHutto is hosting its third annual Hippo Decorating Contest. Any size concrete hippo is accepted and must be painted to be entered. If multiple hippos are owned, multiple submissions are allowed, according to the contest rules. This year will include a youth contest for age 12 and under, owner Sydney Johnson said in an email.

Residential and business hippos will be in separate categories. There are no entry fees for the contest. Voting runs Aug. 15-30, and the winner will be announced on iHutto’s Facebook page.
