1. Learn how to plan and design a green home
Austin Energy hosts workshops throughout August to teach the public about building, buying and remodeling green homes. Thursday’s workshop teaches attendees how to identify home design priorities and how location, site and climate affect the design of a sustainable home.

2. Kick off AnimeCTX at Pinballz Lake Creek
Pinballz Lake Creek hosts a Geeks and Gamers mixer to kick off AnimeCTX. A general admission ticket comes with free food, drinks, a $10 reloadable Pinballz Rewards Member game card and entry into raffles. Guests must be age 13 or older.

FRIDAY
3. Shop at Domain Northside’s final First Friday event
The final First Friday event features live music by Drew Davis and specials in stores around Rock Rose, including a lip bar and complimentary services at Nordstrom and complimentary champagne at Joie. Attendees also have three chances to win CB2 outdoor room settings, which are raffled off at 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.

4. Try Falkor beer at Circle Brewing Co.

5. Attend Austin Emergency Center’s Back to School Bash

6. Visit the new Silverstone neighborhood

7. Compete in the Local Post Pub’s 2017 Olympics
The Local Post Pub 2017 Olympics includes events such as human foosball, volleyball and dodgeball. These tournament-style games are played with teams of eight. At the end of the games, each contestant wins a prize, with the grand prize being from Flyrides Party Bus.
