Amazon is closing a number of its storefronts, including its Amazon Books physical bookstores as well as Amazon 4-star and Amazon Pop Up shops, which sold popular items from amazon.com.

By closing these retail locations, an Amazon spokesperson said the company will be able to focus on its other stores, such as Whole Foods Market, Amazon Fresh, Amazon Go and Amazon Style.

"We remain committed to building great, long-term physical retail experiences and technologies, and we’re working closely with our affected employees to help them find new roles within Amazon,” the spokesperson said in an email.

Affected locations in Community Impact Newspaper's coverage area include those listed below.

  • Domain Northside, 11700 Rock Rose Ave., Ste. 150, Austin (Amazon Books)
