Sunflower Vietnamese Cuisine celebrated its grand opening at 6001 W. Parmer Lane, Ste. 440, Austin, on Aug. 5. The restaurant serves elevated Vietnamese fare with dishes like Tom Rang Muoi—fried Jumbo Tiger prawns over garlic noodles—and Banh Xeo, which are savory crepes. Sunflower Vietnamese Cuisine also offers lunch specials alongside pho, stir fry dishes and vermicelli bowls. 512-291-6749.

Neighborhood eatery Pizza Roma opened in August at 10401 Anderson Mill Road, Austin. The pizza shop serves pies, calzones, stromboli, pasta, panini and appetizers. Customers can purchase meals for pickup or delivery from Pizza Roma’s website. 737-300-1003.

After earning a following in Cancun, Mexico, Blue Gecko arrived in Austin in the spring and is now serving tacos, quesadillas and more from a food truck park in the Four Points area at 6911 RM 620. Also on the menu are craft beer and wine. 512-241-9379.

Sabor Colombia opened in June at 13201 N. RM 620, Ste. 204, Austin. The restaurant, which operates another location in Round Rock, serves authentic Colombian dishes such as arepas and oxtail stew. 512-505-8305.


Nationwide chain Grimaldi’s Pizzeria will open a North Austin location at 11700 Domain Blvd., Ste. 148, Austin. The brick oven pizza spot offers signature pies alongside calzones, salads and antipasto. This location at Domain Northside is expected to open later this fall.
