Pan-Asian fried and hot chicken slingers Spicy Boys on July 22 opened its third location in Austin. The new food trailer is located at Fairweather Cider Co., 10609 Metric Blvd., Ste. 108A, Austin. Spicy Boys offers customers a variety of fried chicken options, including sandwiches, chicken wings and boneless bites available in signature sauces such as Thai BBQ or lemon Sichuan. The food trailer also serves vegetarian dishes including a fried tempeh sandwich, roti and shredded green papaya salad.

Southern kitchen Little Ola’s Biscuits, a new restaurant concept from Central Austin restaurant Olamaie, opened July 16 in the Wells Branch area of North Austin. Little Ola’s, located at 14735 Bratton Lane, Austin, is operating as a takeout-only service, and orders can be placed online. The restaurant serves biscuit sandwiches; hand pies; salads; and housemade spreads, such as salted honey butter, pimento cheese and seasonal jams.

Tacos La Catrina opened July 2 at 15400 N. RM 620, Austin. The food truck serves authentic Mexican dishes such as suadero tacos, quesabirria tacos and tortas.

Chicken Salad Shoppe in early August opened its first dine-in location inside the Furniture Mall of Texas, located at 12901 N. I-35, Bldg. 3, Ste. 300, Austin. The restaurant, started by local catering company Vanilla Orchid Catering, offers a menu of diverse chicken salad flavors in sandwiches and wraps, such as a Thai peanut banh mi chicken salad. 512-790-7790.

Local business Mekato in mid-July began selling out of the Kitchen United Mix ghost kitchen at 8023 Burnet Road, Austin. Trudy's Tex-Mex on July 30 held a reopening party at its location at 8820 Burnet Road, Austin, after the restaurant underwent renovations. According to Trudy’s, the restaurant updated its interior, exterior and bar areas with new flooring, upholstery, design, uniforms, signage and more to reflect the company’s recent rebranding efforts.
