Copenhagen Imports has moved their Austin showroom two miles from its original location at 2236 W. Braker Lane to 4501 W. Braker Lane, Ste. A.

What to know

The family-owned and operated business held its soft opening for the new location on Sept. 18. The new showroom covers over 30,000 square feet of space, with high ceilings and an open floor plan, Web and Marketing Manager Emily Hansen said.

The Austin Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting Sept. 27 and the grand opening celebration will take place Sept. 28-29. As part of their grand opening, Copenhagen Imports will offer a promotional discount allowing customers who buy one full-price item to get 35% off a second item of equal or lesser value, plus 10% off any other items in the purchase, with some exclusions.

The first 300 guests at the grand opening will receive a special gift, while supplies last.

There will be champagne and soft drinks offered on both days, and guests will be able to enter a drawing to win a recliner and ottoman by Stressless® of Norway.

The background

Copenhagen Imports was founded by Danish immigrants Erik Hansen and Tony Christensen in 1970 when they opened the first storefront in Phoenix, Arizona.

The business opened its first Austin location in 1993. The store offers furniture and accessories for all home-living spaces including office furniture, sectionals, dining furniture, beds and lighting.

In their own words

“We’ve been in Austin since 1993 and this is, by far, our most impressive store yet,” President and CEO Jens Hansen said. "Our aim is to offer an even more exciting and uplifting furniture shopping experience than ever before.”
