KIPP Texas announced on Dec. 11 the closure of seven schools located at three campuses in Austin and San Antonio. The charter school system operates over 45 schools across the state.
The details
Seven KIPP schools will close at the end of the current school year, spread across the system's Commerce, Austin South and Austin Ridge campuses:
- KIPP Academy of Arts and Letters
- KIPP Alegria Primary
- KIPP Beacon Prep
- KIPP Brave
- KIPP Camino Academy
- KIPP Obras
- KIPP Un Mundo Primary

The school system stated students impacted by the closures will have a place at other KIPP schools in the region.
