Check out what’s happening in the Austin-area food scene—new restaurants and concepts are popping up across the city and surrounding areas. From East Austin sushi bars to South Lamar taco spots, there’s something for every craving.

Here’s a look at six restaurants now open, hosting soft openings or coming soon.

1. Round Table Pizza

Round Table Pizza is slated to host a grand opening event with door prizes, a DJ, a photo booth, face painting, a tie-dye station and more, said owner Andrea Vergara. The West Coast pizza chain will offer classic and specialty pizzas, according to previous Community Impact reporting, as well as appetizers like wings and mozzarella sticks. The restaurant also features a full service bar, Vergara said. Prior to Nov. 8, Round Table Pizza is hosting a friends and family-style soft opening. At the grand opening the first 100 guests will receive free pizza for a year, Vergara said.2. Everbowl

Owners Paul and Denise Coughlin will open a new Everbowl location in Austin. The storeowners will hold a friends and family opening on Nov. 6 with the official opening date set for Nov. 7. The menu features an array of açaí bowls, signature smoothies, avocado toast and cookie sandwiches. Patrons can build their own bowls or order off of the set menu. The classic Everbowl features açaí, granola, banana, strawberries and blueberries. The Austin location marks Everbowl’s ninth Texas location, joining North Texas stores in Dallas, Flower Mound and Plano.3. Shokunin

A new sushi concept from the team behind Sushi by Scratch Restaurants, Pasta|Bar, and NADC Burger is now open in East Austin. The restaurant is helmed by husband-and-wife duo Chef Phillip Frankland Lee and Executive Pastry Chef Margarita Kallas-Lee. The sushi bar will offer seafood sourced from Tokyo’s Toyosu Fish Market and will not serve cooked dishes—only sushi. Guests will use an order sheet to choose from a rotating selection of fish and a preference of nigiri, sashimi or hand rolls. The menu will also offer beer, wine and sake.4. Hattie B’s

Nashville-based chicken restaurant Hattie B's Hot Chicken is opening its second Austin location at Domain Northside this November. The new location will offer menu items such as the Classic Chicken Sandwich, The Jumbo Tenders Plate and The Half Bird Plate. The restaurant features a dining room with 48 seats and the covered patio features 58 seats. The restaurant was founded by father-and-son duo Nick Bishop Sr. and Nick Bishop Jr. in 2012. Locations can be found in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Nevada and Texas.5. Taquería de Diez

Taquería de Diez is officially open off South Lamar, offering Mexican food to the South Austin community. The taco eatery was founded by brothers Raul and Luis Esquer and serves tacos, quesadillas, burritos, volcanes and desserts, as previously reported by Community Impact. The restaurant’s first location can be found at 206 Trinity St., Ste. 110, Austin. Specific menu items include a carne asada burrito, a grilled cactus quesadilla and pork tacos.6. The Henry Coffee

Now open in Southwest Austin, the Australian-inspired coffee stop offers drip coffee, espresso drinks, teas and locally baked pastries. Flavored drinks include a pumpkin spice latte and a white chocolate macadamia latte. Steeping the idea for nearly a decade, local owners Ash and Stephanie Meredith opened the truck this summer.
