Incumbent and current Leander ISD Board President Pam Waggoner defeated challenger Jim MacKay with 54.3 percent of the votes in the election for Place 3 on the Leander ISD school board, according to unofficial results.
Waggoner garnered 54.3 percent of the vote with 1,711 votes, which is 270 more than her opponent, who received 45.7 percent of the votes.
"It was a tough campaign over very complicated issues and I hope the residents trust us to make the right decisions for Leander ISD," Waggoner said. I've been thinking a lot about it and in the future really want to make how we budget, what our debt is about, and the answers to the questions people have we have to be very transparent. The public should be aware of what's going on and they don't have to be worried."
