Voters approved propositions for tax rates and funding for three new municipal utility districts within the Wedemeyer Ranch development in Leander.
Five candidates won election to Leander MUD No. 2's new board of directors, and five candidates won election to Leander MUD No. 3's new board of directors. Each board has five open positions. However, results show that in Leander MUD No. 1 only one candidate for the new five-member board of directors, Ryan W. Kasten, received a single vote to win election.
In Leander MUD No. 2, Thomas Beier, Michael W. Bridges, William Sayers, Damon Thurman and Charles R. Walters won election to the board of directors. In Leander MUD No. 3, Marsha Adams, Shalene Conrad, Katie Daly, Roy Evans and Pete Peters won election to the new board.
Each of the five propositions for each of the three MUDs—a total of 15 propositions—passed with one vote each. Only those who legally qualify as residents within a newly created MUD can vote for the MUD's propositions or for board of directors candidates, Williamson County Election Administrator Jason Barnett said.
