Moore wins Cedar Park City Council Place 4 election

Incumbent Lowell Moore won the election for the Cedar Park City Council Place 4 seat.
With all polling locations reporting, Moore received 60.21 percent of the vote, or 643 votes. Candidate Mo Jahadi received 39.79 percent of the vote, or 425 votes.
Moore said he is grateful for his family's support throughout the campaign and during his previous 10 years on City Council.
"I hope to continue to deliver the same progress and growth we have had for the years I've been serving Cedar Park," he said.

Based on early voting totals, incumbent Lowell Moore has taken the lead against challenger Mo Jahadi in the race for Cedar Park City Council Place 4.
The unofficial results show Moore with 59.11 percent of the votes, or 464, and Jahadi with 40.89 percent of the votes, or 321.
Vote centers in Williamson county are reporting their early voting totals. Before becoming official, each precinct must report election day tallies, and the votes must be canvassed.
Jahadi is a chiropractor and the owner and operator of Chirofit Wellness Center in Cedar Park. He is a past member of the Cedar Park Community Development Corp., or 4B Board, and served on the city's Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee.
Jahadi said one of the biggest goals he hopes to accomplish if elected would be to add service roads to Toll 183A throughout the city.
"This will help with one of biggest issues facing Cedar Park residents, which is traffic," he said. "It will also help with economic development and job growth."
Moore owns and operates a management consulting practice and previously held the senior vice president position at a company ranked on Fortune Magazine's top 500 businesses list. He has been on Cedar Park City Council for a total of 10 years since 1998.
Moore said if elected, he would aim to keep Cedar Park a desirable place to life while lowering the tax rate.
"I will to continue to build, expand and rehabilitate roads so that moving around the city is easy and hassle-free," he said. "I will continue to provide parks that are family-friendly and provide the services and features that are fun and meet our citizens' needs."
In addition to the Place 4 race, three Cedar Park City Council candidates are unopposed in the May 10 election, including Mayor Matt Powell, and Place 6 councilman and Mayor Pro Tem Don Tracy. Corbin Van Arsdale will replace outgoing member Mitch Fuller in Place 2. Positions are elected at-large.
