Mathews, Kennon take District Court judge seats

According to unofficial results, incumbent Stacey Mathews has won the race for 277th District Court judge and Rick Kennon narrowly beat challenger Donna King to retain his seat as judge of the 368th District Court.
Mathews beat challenger Ryan Larson with 58 percent of the vote, a total of 12,190 votes to Larson's 8,841.
Kennon maintained a slight lead over King through the night, ending at a 0.08 percent lead with 10,510 votes to King's 10,493.

With 66 of 77 voting locations reporting, incumbent Stacey Mathew was in the lead for 277th District Court judge.
According to unofficial results, Mathews claimed 58 percent of the votes, a total of 10,659, while challenger Ryan Larson claimed 41 percent, a total of 7,550 votes.
As of 11:22 p.m., incumbent 368th District Court Judge Rick Kennon led challenger Donna King 9,170 votes to 9,008 votes.

Early voting results indicate incumbent candidates Stacey Mathews and Rick Kennon have taken the lead in the races for 277th and 368th District Court judges.
According to the unofficial totals from the Williamson County Elections Office, Mathews leads challenger Ryan Larson with 60 percent of the early vote, and Kennon leads Donna King slightly with 53 percent of votes.
In October 2013, Gov. Rick Perry appointed Stacey Mathews of Austin as judge of the 277th Judicial District and Rick Kennon as judge of the 368th Judicial District.
Mathews had served as an assistant district attorney in the Williamson County District Attorney's office prior to her appointment and Kennon was appointed after former Judge Burt Carnes retired. The Round Rock resident had previously run a private law practice.
Ryan Larson works as assistant attorney general in the Texas Attorney General's office. Donna King serves as a city of Leander municipal judge, Williamson County magistrate and a private practice attorney.
