Marshall wins Pflugerville City Council Place 2 race

Incumbent Brad Marshall has won the race for Pflugerville City Council Place 2 and retains his seat.
Travis County voting results show Marshall took 60.61 percent of the votes, or 5,112 votes. Challenger Rudy Metayer received 39.84 percent of the votes, or 3,385 votes, with 16 of 16 precincts reporting.

Incumbent Brad Marshall appears likely to retain his Pflugerville City Council Place 2 seat, according to Travis County voting records.
Marshall received 2,484 votes, or 58.23 percent of the total votes cast. His opponent, attorney Rudy Metayer, took 1,782 votes, or 41.77 percent.
The Place 2 race was the only contested race for a Pflugerville City Council seat. Place 4 incumbent Starlet Sattler ran unopposed.
Marshall, a custom home builder, said his experience on the council would help him work on issues important to Pflugerville immediately following the election.
"Water should be high on our priority list and demand our focus for the upcoming years," Marshall previously said. "Finding solutions with regards to alternative sources, conservation and re-use strategies will be a large focus of mine for the next term."
Marshall also said he would work to improve transportation options in Pflugerville, among other matters.

Brad Marshall, Pflugerville City Council Place 2 incumbent, has taken an early lead against challenger Rudy Metayer, according to early voting results.
Marshall has 2,478 votes, or 58.21 percent of the early votes, and Metayer has 1,779 votes, or 41.79 percent.
Metayer and Marshall are vying for the only contested seat on City Council. Pflugerville City Council members serve three years terms.
Metayer is an attorney for the state of Texas and currently works for the Health and Human Services Commission. He said the city faces significant challenges because of growth. The city of Pflugerville should collaborate closely with the Pflugerville Economic Development Corp., continue to lower the property tax rate, work more closely with Pflugerville ISD, improve public recreation facilities and better serve seniors, he said.
Marshall, the incumbent, is a custom homebuilder and has served a single three-year term on City Council. Marshall said he achieved his first-term goals of lowering the property tax rate, improving sales tax revenue through commercial growth and maintaining an efficient government.
Going forward, Marshall said he intends to improve the city's water supply and transportation, among other matters.
Councilwoman Startlet Sattler ran unopposed in the election.
