Brooklyn Heights Pizzeria opened 3 p.m. Aug. 19 as the first restaurant in The Shops at Crystal Falls, a new shopping center at the intersection of Crystal Falls Parkway and North Lakeline Boulevard. Restaurant owner Pat Stafford said diners can expect the restaurant to serve similar menu items during similar hours as the restaurant’s original location on Avery Ranch Boulevard in North Austin. Brooklyn Heights is open for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to midnight. The restaurant serves Italian fare, such as handmade specialty pizzas, calzones and lasagna as well as salads, hot wings, steaks and seafood. The new 4,600-square-foot location will seat about 170 people. It will also have a full bar with a selection of local beers. Happy hours will be daily from 3 to 7 p.m., Stafford said. Stafford bought the Avery Ranch restaurant in 2008. “We’ve had our last location for eight years, so it’s time for us to expand,” he said. “It’s been an exciting process, trying to build one from scratch. … We’re excited to be in Crystal Falls.” The new location will have 21 television screens and will also cater to customers from the nearby Crystal Falls Golf Course. The Shops at Crystal Falls shopping center’s proximity to the golf course made the location similar to the Avery Ranch location, Stafford said. Other planned additions to the intersection include a Randalls grocery store, which could open in early 2016, and Cedar Park Regional Emergency Center. Farther north on Lakeline Boulevard, the Mason Hills subdivision is under construction along an extension of the roadway, which opened in April. “[Based on] the people I know up there and [my] being up there so much, they’re all really excited and they need a restaurant up there,” Stafford said.
