The first In-N-Out Burger in Austin opens Dec. 12 at 4508 N. I-35 next to Airport Boulevard, company officials confirmed.

The California-based burger chain will begin taking orders at 10:30 a.m. Approximately 50 employees have been hired to staff the restaurant, according to a company news release.

Carl Van Fleet, In-N-Out Burger vice president of planning and development, said in April shortly after the company applied for building permits that the location is a good fit for the burger chain.

"It is a great site in a vibrant area with good proximity to I-35. We're really enthusiastic about the opportunity there," he said.

In-N-Out Burger will be open 10:30 a.m.–1 a.m. daily and until 1:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Started in 1948, the In-N-Out Burger chain of quick-serve restaurants are still owned and maintained by the founding Snyder family. The company has locations in Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah and Texas.
