The Woodlands Development Company has announced Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar signed an 8-000-square-foot lease in September for the Restaurant Row section of the Hughes Landing development in The Woodlands.
"We are excited that Whiskey Cake has selected Restaurant Row in Hughes Landing for its new location, continuing a momentum of leasing activity," said Paul Layne, executive vice president of master-planned communities for the Howard Hughes Corporation. "One Hughes Landing recently opened at almost full occupancy in only 10 months from start to completion. Construction is also underway for Two Hughes Landing, the second of up to 11 office buildings planned for Hughes Landing."
Based out of Plano, the restaurant is scheduled to open in early 2015 and will be the first Whiskey Cake location in the greater Houston area. Advertising itself as a "farm-to-kitchen" restaurant, Whiskey cake offers a varied menu of fresh, distinctive lunch, dinner and dessert dishes, including the famous Whiskey Cake.
"We are thrilled to open our first Whiskey Cake in the Houston area," said Jack Gibbons, president of Front Burner Restaurants. "The restaurant scene there has significantly grown over the past few years, and we think the community will embrace our unique and innovative menu. We're excited to expand our culinary vision to The Woodlands area."
