For the ninth consecutive year, the New Braunfels Public Library has received an award for its consistent excellence and contributions to public library services.

The local library was selected to receive the 2023 Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award from the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association, according to a news release.

Out of the 545 public library systems in the state, only 84 were selected to receive the award. This puts the New Braunfels Public Library in the top 15% in the state, according to a news release.

“We are honored to once again receive this award from the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association,” said Gretchen Pruett, New Braunfels public library director. “This award demonstrates the hard work of our staff, who have shown excellence in key areas like providing services to underserved and special populations, promoting cultural, topical, and educational programming, as well as providing literacy workforce development support.”
