Ryan thanked the community for their support after reading the oath of office and said she was excited to take on the new position in the community.

“I'm ready to get to work and make New Braunfels proud,” Ryan said. “Thank you guys all for being so civically-minded and being here tonight. I sincerely appreciate it and look forward to representing New Braunfels.”

Former District 6 Council Member James Blakey received recognition for the service he gave to the community, and thanked the city staff for their guidance.

“We have superior staff in New Braunfels,” Blakey said. “They care, they live here, they're part of the community. I want [citizens] to remember to get involved. It's super important, and they've taught me a lot as I learned over time, they made me a better citizen. I encourage everyone here to get involved.”
