Design plans for the proposed Alligator Creek Linear Park and Trail will be available for the public to view at an open house June 5 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the New Braunfels U Service Center, 355 FM 306, New Braunfels.

The specifics

The Alligator Creek Trail is part of the city of New Braunfels Hike and Bike Trail Plan, which includes multiuse paths and links to neighborhoods along Geronimo Creek and Alligator Creek. Several commercial and residential developments in the area have installed portions of the trail over the past few years, according to a news release.

According to the city, it contracted civil engineering firm Vickrey & Associates to coordinate with stakeholders, determine potential trail alignments, identify future funding and develop preliminary designs to seamlessly link trail segments together.

What they’re saying

“This open house, come-and-go public meeting is a chance for residents to see the plans that have been developed for Alligator Creek Trail,” said Garry Ford, New Braunfels director of transportation and capital improvements. “It’s also a chance to ask questions and get answers directly from city staff and the design team.”
