The Comal ISD board of trustees will have three positions on the May 4 election ballot: District 1, held by Tim Hennessee; District 2, held by Courtney Biasatti; and District 5, held by Michelle Ross.

All three trustees have served three-year terms and have held their current positions on the board since May 2021. The board voted to call the election during a regular meeting on Jan. 25.
The board is made up of seven single-member districts, and each trustee must live in the district they represent. The board’s primary functions are goal setting, approving the budget and policymaking, according to the district's website.
