A new multifamily apartment complex is nearly complete off Loop 337 at 1661 Independence Drive, New Braunfels. Construction is anticipated to be completed and move-in ready by mid-March, according to Ashley Sinclair with Village Green, an apartment management company.

The gist

The Devereaux will consist of 240-units in one four-story mid-rise apartment building serviced by three elevators. The building is insured by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, but its units will be rented at market rates without any subsidies or vouchers, said Scott Hudman, a spokesman for the agency.

The units will vary in size from studios to three-bedroom apartments, but the majority (136 units) will be one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments (80 units). Rent ranges from $1,275-$2,300 per month. The total cost of the project is $51million, according to Sinclair.

A clubhouse and leasing office are incorporated into the first two floors of the building.

Amenities include:
  • A resort-style swimming pool
  • Fitness center
  • Dog park
  • Outdoor kitchen
  • Grilling stations
In addition to fencing and controlled access gates, the Devereaux will offer various parking options, including carports and garages, totaling 408 spaces, which comes out to about 1.7 parking spaces per unit, according to Hudman.
