The Phoenix Saloon, owned by husband-and-wife duo Ross and Debbie Fortune, temporarily closed Jan. 2 to deep clean, make upgrades to the sound system and take care of various repairs.

The bar and live music venue will also be under new management. The previous manager was Christina Corder, and the new manager is longtime New Braunfels local Codie Reeh.

Reeh said she was looking forward to stepping in to the general manager role.

“I’m excited to be a part of the first bar in Texas that served women,” Reeh told Community Impact.

Reeh said The Phoenix Saloon will also be introducing a few other Prohibition-style cocktails, as well as mocktails.

“We’re going to change out a lot of beers and liquors, and hopefully promote local,” she added.

The bar is scheduled to reopen Jan. 12.
