Leander City Council on July 17 approved an agreement to have a pavement study conducted in the interest of developing its five-year road maintenance plan.
The $286,539.34 agreement with Applied Research Associates, Inc. provides for automated data collection on roughly 352 miles of road in and around the city, according to agenda documents.

Applied Research will use automated data collection vans with a 3D scanning laser system capable of capturing detailed images and measurements, according to the documents.
